We will draw the line and will see if everything we’ve struggled for will have worthed. What we’ve struggled for, what we’ve gone to war for, what we’ve hated for, what we’ve trampled for. Will it all have worth? I believe that in the end, it will have worthed only the things we did out of love (what a big word, what does it even mean?), the moments in which we’ve touched with infinite gentleness and tenderness, not those in which we’ve fired automatically with all the blind bullets we had.
There is so much strength in each of us. And our duty to our soul, to our soul, not to others, is to transform it from war into peace. Out of intolerance into understanding. From destructiveness into creativity. Words. I don’t always know how to do it. But I promise myself to try.
In the last hour, it won’t have mattered how much we’ve destroyed, but how much we’ve created. It won’t have mattered how many excel documents or bank accounts we’ve opened, but how many people we’ve touched with our soul. In the last hour, it won’t have mattered anything that we believe it matters now.
It’s not up to us to open the soul of another, but it’s up to us to walk with ours open ahead, with all the risks involved: the risk of being trampled, of not being understood, of being hurt, of being rejected.
Because, if we succeed to walk like this, from a million people who don’t see, don’t feel, don’t caress, there will be a few who will see, will feel, will caress, will walk in the same way, with their heart wide open, and when these two souls meet, will create such a powerful explosion of light, that it will have worthed all the pain and the suffering caused by the interaction with the others. And this light will touch others. Maybe, only this way, they will also learn that you should walk with your soul ahead in life.
